LA Box Collective Panel Discussion - Oct. 11, 2009
Today we hosted a fascinating panel discussion from four members of the newly formed LA Box Collective, a group of professional Los Angeles based furniture makers committed to environmentally conscious design and production. In this, their first public appearance, the members discussed their philosophies for building sustainable furniture. The discussion was moderated by Harold Greene, president of The Woodworker's Guild of Southern California, himself a furniture maker with 30 years of experience.
The panel of William Stranger, Leigh Spencer, Topher Paterno and Sam Moyer discussed the cycle of consuming disposible furniture, salvage wood sources and FSC certification.
