Henry Niller

A native of El Salvador, Henry moved to Los Angeles when he was 15. He was named after the famous writer, Henry Miller. Not as familiar with English surnames as a native speaker might be, his Salvadoran hospital issued his birth certificate with a typo: Henry Niller Garcia. Henry embraced the typo and has signed his works "Niller" since a young age.

Among other works, Niller's La Vida en Coagulos is particularly notable. The collection of drawings on small cards was created throughout 2001, with one card drawn per week day, eventually comprising over 200 "Life Clumps." Patrons will also enjoy Friends and Neighbors, caricatures of fellow bus passengers and other friends, and an interesting rock 'n' roll take on Mexican El Día de los Muertos art.

Leaf

Queer Women In Their Spaces documents the lives of women in the area where the feel their interests, dreams, passions, and energy naturally flow with the freedom to exist without speculation, rejection or indifference. Each individual has entrusted their stories, their comfort, and their genuineness  in collaboration to display the commonality of life regardless of one's sexual preference and gender. Leaf respectfully captures the essence of these "queer women" to share not their superficial appearance, but the spirit that drives them when their mind, body, and soul are aligned.

Patrick Beine

Like a cultural anthropologist, author and renowned German photographer Patrick Beine explores the outrageous potency of 21st century music. He captures the evocative actions and gestures of top rated groups through live stage photography, documenting the dynamic relationship between expression and existential feeling.

Patrick explains: "Many times people told me I should put a book together with all the amazing live photos I shot. The mission of doing that with all of the photos was obviously too big for a start, since my archive is several thousand photo big, but this book here contains a good selection of them."

Patrick's photographs document postmodern acts in the process of live stage shows to the viewer. The completely stylized vehemence of the bands poise new and interesting angles of what it's like inside the soul of the music.

One of Germany's premiere photographers, Patrick further elucidates; "Music photography and especially the live aspect of it is definitely one of my passions. Anticipating and catching that quick moment of adrenaline or emotion that will hit us with full force of pure emotional energy and then disappear to just remain somewhere in our unconscious mind after we are going home from a moving music performance; that is the chase that created this book. This connection with the artist, to know what is going to happen before it happens is the symbiosis of two forms of art. And then looking back, knowing that this is the essence of their passion, the blink of an eye that catches the soul of the musician, is the gift I am glad to be able to give to others and leave behind for future generations."
